Here's a topic for anyone who gets school cancelled because of snow tomorrow.
Seeing as Southampton has so far received no more than an almost unnoticeable fall (to give a quantity, about 5 specks per square metre per second) but apparently Woodbridge has sun AND blizzards (yes, it is always sunny in Woodbridge!) so I figure some people are getting school cancelled
Well I've got lectures all day tomorrow regardless... _________________ Why do things at the last minute? There's still 59 seconds you could wait around! |

Hmm, 'Arctic Conditions', 'Unprecedented Weather' - three inches of white fluffy stuff brings most of the country to a standstill. I heard an interview with someone who had landed at Gatwick from Eastern Europe, and thought it was a total joke that we could not cope.
It's interesting to note that it's mostly the self-employed who are struggling in to work; I have just had most of a day working in pretty chilly conditions.
As for schools, quite a lot of them are shut around Cambridge. (Luke may be on later, gloating.) _________________ 'We demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty' (HHGG) |

I think London's the biggest culprit - the BBC certainly had more to say about the fact that buses weren't running in London etc (the Southampton Uni ones are stopping at 7 tonight) than about the two climbers who'd died on Snowdon in it! _________________ Why do things at the last minute? While I was sitting in labs and trying to do dull theory work for 4 hours straight! Count yourself lucky.... the chances of us having enough snow for them to close campus is pretty remote! _________________ Why do things at the last minute? There's still 59 seconds you could wait around! |

Lots of snow means avalanche risk, but anybody mountaineering at this time of year needs ice/snow kit with them. _________________ How can we see God face to face till we have faces? |

Well lucky you - it's sort-of snowing right now but it''s too warm for it to settle at all - tbh i just wish it'd stay sunny and dry out a bit, the CU at Southampton have an events week coming up (see http://www.whodoyousayiam.info) so it'd be good for it to be dry-ish seeing as we're in a marquee in the middle of campus and ppl are more likely to come if it's nice n sunny! so prayers for sun and that we can reach lots of people next week _________________ Why do things at the last minute? Wot, no posts?
It must be the snow, either that or we could blame Global Warming (everybody else does), or maybe its all the fault of the Credit Crunch.
Anyway, as far as I can see, no one actually posted - not at all - on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Gosh, shock Horror _________________ 'We demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty' (HHGG) |
