Methinks you should all pray lots 'coz God loves it when we do and amazing things happen! i know that sounds really really cheesy but i've found it really rewarding recently getting more into reading d bible (even if its late at night n i should sleep) - if u find it boring read the gospels (start with mark) - and jus do a couple/few chapters or pages a day, maybe before you go to bed if u actually think bout what it means for u then ul see how amazing the message of Jesus is and how great it is that we can have Him there for us the whole time! Also, when stuff goes wrong / how we don't expect then God's still there and watching over us
sorry i'm just kinda atm and hopefully u guys can be too! (wel, not quite that green i hope, but maybe u get the idea?
I just thought also it'd be good to be able to throw out requests on here if there's anything you want prayer for (work getting over the top, stuff at school being difficult, god stuff, whatever it is) - altho don't mention anything you don't want the whole internet able to read (use private messages or facebook) and also just to generally have a better idea how everyone actually is, so the forum's worth more than absolute drivel _________________ Why do things at the last minute? If you find the bible boring, I'd actually suggest you try the prophets. They can be pretty dramatic. Isaiah 40-onwards is pretty good, as is Daniel, then Amos and Hosea are quite cool just for their sheer bitterness, and some of the other minor prophets too. The other major prophets (Ezekiel and Jeremiah) can be a bit of a handful, though.
Though as Mark says, gospels are good, and Mark is best for brevity (as well as having Mr Evans' name). _________________ How can we see God face to face till we have faces? |

A few years ago on the cruise we were told to read Acts - I know some of you won't have been there, and some who were I bet never got round to it, but really - it's a great book. Perhaps try a new version ofthe Bible too. (I use the Youth Bible, but the messageis often good if you're finding it hard going) _________________ Live your faith |

I didn't get round to it at the time, but I'll agree with Acts - by the end you won't believe how many miracles actually happened!
Although, you will feel almost like you've already heard about that miracle (eg they healed lots of blind people in about half the chapters) still is v gd
Proverbs and Psalms are great if you want something different for a change (particularly if you're finding a particular bit quite dry).
I can't wait for the cruise I'm sure God's got some amazing stuff lined up! _________________ Why do things at the last minute? There's still 59 seconds you could wait around! |

Praying is really important. It can protect and make us feel at ease. I know that the power of prayers are very effective.
[Thankyou for that, tonks, I agree. However, please keep adverts out of your posts.

"The Good Book" have just started some new( i think so anyway) bible notes aimed at teenagers called engage. i've been using them recently and they're pretty good-though it may seem like it's repeating itself-but they're a manageable length so i have no excuse not to do it before i go to bed
reading the bible is something most christians don't do enough, and so have a very limited understanding of God |
