Just a note to start a new topic, to say that here is a space for any comments about the Sail Training Weekend in three week's time.
Also, for anyone who has been to a previous one to comment, including what might be improved. _________________ 'We demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty' (HHGG) |

Hmm, number of posts per day seems to be dropping rapidly - does everyone have exams coming up?
That's almost three days since the last post to any topic on the forum.
I'd e-mailed everybody coming on the Training Weekend to suggest they visit the Forum, and put any comments they'd like - but no takers.
Maybe it also means that as no-one has suggested any improvements, the Training Weekend is absolutely perfect as it is!
(Mark will probably be along at three in the morning to reply to that . . .) _________________ 'We demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty' (HHGG) |

I'm very jealous.. wish I could've gone! I've got a ridiculous amount of work to do and wish it could just be Easter so I could go sailing _________________ Why do things at the last minute? There's still 59 seconds you could wait around! |

Greg - if I'm honest that bit's scaring me!
On a completely unrelated (apart from it's to do with the cruise) note, I hear rumour that I may no longer be a floating mate. Do you have information which may confirm or deny said rumour? _________________ Why do things at the last minute? There's still 59 seconds you could wait around! |

I have no idea whether or not you're still a floater.
As for scaring you, which bit scares you? The evil grin, the prospect of more work in the future or the LaTeX? _________________ How can we see God face to face till we have faces? |

I think mostly the prospect of more work in the future; possibly also the hours I'll no doubt spend learning LaTeX while miserably failing to get any work done (I spent several hours conditional-formatting lab results which turn out not to be needed at all! _________________ Why do things at the last minute? First years tend to think they're working hard, but the problem is that they haven't yet learned which bits you need to work hard at, and which bits you can let go. That was my problem, anyway.
As for latex, it takes you a couple of days to get used to it but after that it's easy. If you can do html, you can do latex no problem. It also saves you stress later on when it's time to hand in your final report, and the people who used Word find that their reports won't format right on the uni computers! And yes, that was another true story.
Oh dear, this thread's going downhill. Quick, talk about sailing! _________________ How can we see God face to face till we have faces? |

Hmm, so it is worth giving it a shot for short projects and stuff now so i familiarise a bit more with it?
Anyway, I really wish I was sailing now - I can't wait for the cruise! although it is now only a month away _________________ Why do things at the last minute? There's still 59 seconds you could wait around! |
