If we post enough, the thread will start a new page and everything will be fine and dandy.

Mark proves that despite having risen to the level of site admin, he still isn't above making totally gratuitous posts to raise his post count.Cool
I'm just liking this long line of quotes Very Happy
Is there a record?
Doubt it
I've never kept one.
We could set a record
I think we've already set the record by now Very Happy
Anyway, my post had a point - it was showing that I quite liked what was posted in the quote Smile
It's not like I'm worried about my post count, anyway!
I think I trained you well on the post-count-angst front, when I ruthlessly pruned the boards, back in the early days.
These posts are massive!
No kidding!
And your pruning was extreme back in the day, because Mark had like 800 posts, which went down to about 300!
It gave me a nice evil grin. Besides, I didn't want young Mark to embarrass himself in later life with his massive post counts.
But now he has very large numbers again. Far more than anyone else.
Nowadays, Mark is an adult and can take responsibility for his own signs and symptoms of a life mis-spent on the internet.
So Luke, you've created a branch in the quote arc. There are now two rival arcs competing for size. Controversial!
Where's Luke's branch in the arc? Or, did I break it by removing whitespace?
He quoted a post from four posts back.
sorry, didn't notice the second page
i like the arc too, it's very nice as you scroll down all the posts
However, it still isn't one character wide in the centre
What do you mean?
i mean that in the middle of the quotes, the original one, is more than one character wide. which it would probably get to if there were loads and loads
It's about 6 or 7 wide at the mo
Hmm, it is getting rather narrow!
I keep forgetting to click the quote button Sad
Another thing - anyone want to tell me what mathematical function the curve of the top half of this approximates? Razz
I think it may well be a parabola, with right angled axes.
Also, have you noticed that my original quoted comment is appearing in smaller and smaller font sizes - rather than chopping words in half?
I was thinking the top part almost looked like a logarithm function, only rotated through 90 degrees clockwise (not the second half) - although it also looks quite like a quadratic mirrored in y=x
(or, just the graph y^2 = x)
OK, that time I actually did forget to click the quote button the first time round! oooopsss.....
AND... just realised how much worse this looks on a small screen (viewing at 800x600 it's a bit insane, which is less than half the width i'm looking at it on normally...
I guess it would look quite crazy if you had a small screen.
Yeah, try resizing your browser window to 800 pixels wide (probably 78% of your screen width on a normal laptop, or if it's a widescreen one, then 56%)
This is widescreen. I noticed that the very middle of this quote line is still there. It isn't in the one on our forum, we have more quotes, but less in each quote. Very Happy
The very time that I post that, it goes!
Someone count what the max. quote depth is? Razz

30

And it didn't take to long to count it

This is pointless!

But it's still quite addictive!

If there's a limit you need to write a lot to make it bigger

OK, fair enough.

How long is this going to carry on for?

Till we get bored of having to scroll up and down loads

I could start changing the names to make it more interesting...

I'm gonna start this thing again!

ooo sounds like fun!

or yes

Great idea

How did you quote yourself Gareth?!

Bad idea

Why

Yes we will!

Well you were wrong then

Yes

Oh well
Funky

Really?
